What would you do if you see older people crossing the road ahead?

Elderly people are one of the most vulnerable groups on the road. They are especially vulnerable when crossing across a road.

You should be patient and allow them to cross in their own time. Be cautious that senior persons may take their time crossing the street. They may also be hard of hearing. So, instead of getting too close to or revving your engine, avoid rushing older persons across the road.

What makes older people more vulnerable?

Older people have a few disadvantages that are unavoidable.

Older people are more vulnerable due to a number of causes. They may be unaware of approaching traffic if they have impaired eyesight or hearing. When crossing the street, they may be unable to gauge the speed of approaching traffic.

Even if they become aware of a risk, they may be unable to act swiftly or feel flustered. It may also take them longer to cross the street. Be patient and avoid rushing them by revving your engine or edging ahead.
