Why should you be cautious when going past a bus waiting at a bus stop?

There are certain places where you need to take extra caution when driving near. A bus stop is one of them.

You need to be cautious because people may cross the road in front of it. A bus at a bus stop can conceal pedestrians who are attempting to cross the road directly in front of it. Drive at a speed that will allow you to respond safely if necessary.

When following a bus, keep an eye out for passengers standing up inside: the bus will most likely come to a halt soon.

Be aware: The amount you can see is determined by how well you can see. Your vision can alter without you realising it. Have your eyesight checked on a regular basis.

School buses will also pick up and drop off people in areas where regular bus stops do not exist. Expect an increase in the number of walkers, cyclists, and cars at work and school entrances. At school start and finish times, keep an eye out for vehicles, both buses and cars.
